Step into the spotlight in our official Malmö Game Week Cosplay Contest! Whether you're entering solo or as part of a group, we welcome costumes from games, comics, anime, movies, or original designs.

Prizes will be awarded for various categories within craftsmanship, and more. A panel of invited judges will evaluate contestants, so keep an eye out for the launch of the prizes, categories, and sign up date!

Cosplay is taking over Malmö Game Week and you're invited to join the fun!

Whether you’re a seasoned costume veteran or stepping into character for the first time, the Cosplay Village at MGW2025 is your home base for creativity, expression, and community. Expect guest creators, cosplay-focused booths, a backroom space, and a show-stopping cosplay contest on Saturday!

Together with ICONIC.cosplay we will be hosting the MGW Cosplay Village, Malmö Game Week Cosplay Show and help bring cosplay activities to life!

The Cosplay Village

Located near the entrance, the Cosplay Village is a welcoming space curated especially for cosplayers and fans of cosplay culture, including our cosplay reception and our cosplay guests. If you want to join our cosplay village you can let us know and we will see what we can do to make you part of Malmö Game Week!

Guest Tables

We’re hosting a range of amazing cosplay guests, from skilled prop-makers to our cosplay judges. Visit their tables to chat, grab a signed print, take a photo, or just hear about their craft. We appreciate all ranges of cosplayers here, so if you want to sell prints, or just want a booth to showcase your wares, do reach out to us! Everyone is welcome to join the Village as long as they are cosplay related!

Cosplay Booths

Across the village, you’ll find vendors and creators offering cosplay-related products and content. Browse handmade props, accessories, prints, and materials. Take a look at some of the ways that cosplay is made with 3D printing live in space!

Cosplay Repair Station

Cosplay can be tough on materials so we’ve got you covered! Our Repair Station is stocked with emergency supplies like glue, safety pins, thread, elastic, and more to help with any last-minute fixes or costume malfunctions.

Backstage Area (Cosplayers Only)

We know it’s important to have a space away from the public eye. The Cosplay Backstage Area is a private, calm area where cosplayers can change, rest, hydrate, or just take a breather. This area is reserved for the event's cosplayers and invited guests only. Assistants and community guests will be granted access upon review!

  • What is Cosplay?

    If you’re interested in cosplay, this is a panel you won’t want to miss! ICONIC.cosplay will guide you through the many events across the Nordics — from Norway and Sweden to Finland and Denmark — giving you a clear overview of where to go and what to look forward to in the cosplay scene.

    Whether you’re completely new to cosplay or already part of the community, this panel has something for you. Together with experienced guests, we’ll share tips, tricks, and insights to help you get started, get involved, or simply deepen your curiosity about this creative world.

  • Malmö Game Week Cosplay Catwalk

    Sunday, 14, Cosplay Village

    We believe that everyone should have a chance to showcase their cosplay and be presented to the audience and crowd. For those of you that are new to cosplay we will be inviting you to do a short showcase of your cosplay for the crowd and the sign ups will be held on the day so it’s open for everyone to join. Show us your cosplays and love for the characters you have become! We also welcome OC (original characters) from you cosplaying your DND characters, Fursonas, and just about everyone that is cosplay related!

Cosplay Guests

Are you an experienced cosplayer with knowledge or inspiration to share? We’re looking for guests who want to host a table, give a talk, run a workshop, or simply meet the community.

Cosplay Vendors

Are you a maker, artist, or seller of cosplay-related goods? Apply for a booth in the Cosplay Village to showcase and sell your creations: from prints to props to materials.

Cosplay Judges

We’re assembling a panel of experienced cosplayers and creators to judge the cosplay contest. If you have an eye for detail and a love for celebrating creativity, apply to join the jury.

Photographers

We’d love to feature cosplay photographers to help capture the event and give cosplayers the spotlight they deserve. You'll have access to photo-friendly zones and be promoted on our social channels.

Perks of Cosplaying at Malmö Game Week!

All cosplayers get access to the backstage area for cosplayers connected to the Cosplay Village so you can put your things in storage while you enjoy the show, and also ensure that you have a relaxing area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main event!

All cosplayers will have access to the repair station, some light snacks, and water as well as changing rooms.

All cosplayers will have access to a special storage area in the backstage area for them to deposit their bulky items, as they enjoy MGW clutter free!

For show contestants your entrance ticket will be free, and entitle you to bring in one assistant for free! To be a part of the main show, you just need to apply and be approved for our show!
